<p><strong>Conference Overview</strong></p>
<p>This two-day conference is a joint undertaking of the Philippine Center for Civic Education and Democracy (PCCED) and the University of Asia and the Pacific &#8211; Department of History. Aside from the main lectures of which there will be four, the conference will also feature plenary and workshop sessions supported by facilitators from the UA&amp;P Department of History.</p>
<p><strong>Conference Objectives</strong></p>
<p>1. To strengthen civic education by revisiting the content of course on Rizal taught at the secondary and tertiary levels.</p>
<p>2. To walk participants through selected primary and translated text as starting point for discussing Rizal&#8217;s key ideas on citizenship and civic virtue, and their historical development.</p>
<p>3. To help teachers reflect critically on Rizal&#8217;s work as means for inculcating civic virtues to young Filipino student.</p>
